My SP studies took a big hit when I moved/changed jobs. My new job allows far less study time than my previous one unfortunately but I plan to dedicate atleast one night a week to labbing/workbooks. I will be continuing to create my own labs so stay tuned, The pace will be ...

I am now focused on prep for the SP lab. This has meant going back to start with theory on certain topics.
I am still using dynamips for study but decided to combine it with some real switches, I already owned two 3550’s and needed a way to link these to my workstation. First I bought some usb nics but after discovering they all had the same mac address…..AND didn’t provide any support for jumbo frames I changed that idea to the use of a third party switch. So off I ...

I have decided to put all the labs I create while studying for the SP exam into my own workbooks and provide them here. So far I have ATM, PPPoE and ISIS up. These workbooks will be based off the SP Lab blueprint, Currently MPLS is the focus and I am breaking it down like so
Mpls - basics and LDP.
Mpls - TE
Mpls - VPN
Mpls - AToM , EoMPLS
If anyone has any preference as to what workbooks I should be next, Send me an email or leave a comment.

While doing my usual internet trawl for news, I came across this article on Ipexperts blog
A quick summary is that Ipexpert are starting a sister company called Ipexpert Training, This new company will offer training at the Associate and professional levels for Cisco, And I believe they plan to provide training for other vendors like Microsoft.
Very interesting news, especially in terms of the current economic situation and the fact there are pre-existing vendors operating in this space. For those who haven’t read my bio I am a CCSI ( Cisco ...

Goal 1 - Obtain the CCDP certification, Required steps to achieve this - CCDA exam, ARCH exam and as I haven’t done my CCNP, I need to do the composite exam.
Goal 2 - CCIE Service Provider, You read right, CCDP is my immediate focus then I go back to the world of sleep deprived study in preparation of a 8 ...

On 15-Dec-08 I failed my first attempt at R&S, I was devastated that night and for half of the following day, The hardest part about the entire experience for me was showing up at work the next day and answering all those questions with ” I failed”. I’m not entirely sure if I was just unlucky or lazy, But If I had to ...
