@Fraser What info are you after for the nix side? It was very straight forward with the gig interface that links to the physical switch only having its mtu increased. Everything else is handled by dynamips or the physical switch.

Nice looking setup. How did you get the linux side to work? I want to be able to use a single Interface on my ubunutu box to connect to a stack of 3560s

@Matt

cheers, I'm well aware of headshells and use them at work regularly, But as I didn't have any at home and it was around 10pm I decided to solder!.

I prefer the real switches to be honest. The SP lab may not cover the advanced switching components that RS does but this way I have no issues with mtu sizes, !inQ tunnelling etc. Basically I went this route so I wouldn't have to rent racks and could still do all the work. Plus I like the humm of the boxes next to me :).

Looks good mate. Especially like the console cable work. Back in the day you could have used the headhsell because with a rollover cable and enough Cisco headshells you can do absolutely anything...

Are you finding much different with the real switches and the dynamips switches (NM-xESW) for SP purposes? After all SP doesn't have anywhere near as much fancy switching stuff as what R&S does.

My search for "Extreme Alpine" on ebay had interesting results:
